About Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity refers to the natural variations in brain function and behavioural traits within the human population. It acknowledges that differences such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and others are not deficits but unique ways of experiencing and interacting with the world.

While the exact causes of neurodivergence are not fully understood, it is widely recognised that these neurological differences impact how individuals think, learn, communicate, and process emotions. A neurodivergent person may face emotional, academic, and social challenges—from schooling to workplace adaptation. However, with the right support and inclusive environments, they can develop confidence, independence, and reach their full potential.

Neurodiversity presents unique challenges and strengths across different stages of life:

Early Childhood (0-5 years): Delayed speech, sensory sensitivities, and motor challenges may arise, but deep focus and creativity often shine. Early intervention and structured routines support healthy development.

School Age (6-12 years): Social skills, organisation, and emotional regulation can be challenging, while strengths frequently emerge in specific interests. Individualised learning plans and social skills training are key.

Adolescence (13-18 years): Growing self-awareness can impact confidence and mental health. Difficulties with executive function may affect academic performance. Mentorship and flexible learning pathways nurture self-advocacy and critical thinking.

Adulthood (19+ years): Navigating workplace norms and masking can lead to stress or burnout. Nonetheless, strengths in problem-solving, attention to detail, and creativity stand out. Appropriate accommodations and supportive communities enhance long-term success and wellbeing.

About Colourful Journeys Education Centre

At Colourful Journeys Education Centre, we recognise that every child is unique. We support children who face everyday challenges stemming from developmental, neurological, physical, or sensory differences — including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, or difficulties related to mobility, communication, cognition, or sensory processing. Through individualised learning strategies, we help each child unlock their potential and grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

We believe that human diversity should be understood, respected, and embraced. In partnership with parents, caregivers, and communities, we promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. By sharing evidence-based intervention strategies and real-life applications, we empower adults to better understand, support, and advocate for the children in their care.

As part of our social impact commitment, we donate a portion of all proceeds to charities supporting the wellbeing of children and youth. By choosing our services, you invest in your child’s growth and a meaningful cause.

Strategic Framework

Our Vision is to create a world of happiness and inclusion, where children and all individuals are supported to reach their full potential, and human diversity is fully embraced.

Our Mission is Empowering children and families through inclusive support and a colourful journey of growth.

Our Strategic Objectives are deeply embedded in the design of our centre’s logo.

The Outer Wheel, in green, red, and magenta, reflects our alignment with three key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Good Health & Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4) and Reduced Inequalities (SGD 10).

At the heart of the emblem, the Tree of Potential, with its three green leaves, represents the core of our teaching philosophy: mindfulness-based, relationship-driven, and strength-focused.

The Trunk and Roots, formed by the initials ‘C’ and ‘J’, stand for Colourful Journeys’ foundation, illustrated in deep blue. This element reflects our alignment with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, highlighting our belief in shared impact and collective growth.

My journey – as a woman with a blend of Asian and Western education, as a corporate executive, as a leadership coach, as a specialist in neurodivergent learning, as a mindfulness practitioner, as a sustainability advocate, and as a mother – has provided me with profound insights and deep fulfilment in embracing a life of compassion and purpose.

Professional Experience & People Development

I was born and raised in China and later moved to Germany to pursue a master’s degree in Finance and Risk Management at a renowned university. Since then, I have lived and worked in multiple countries, building a career in business development and strategic transformation.

I have conducted workshops and training sessions for business leaders on strategic communication, performance management, and people development across Europe and the Asia-Pacific. With over 20 years in the corporate world, I have cultivated extensive expertise in mindful, results-driven behavioural coaching for both personal and team development. Known for my genuine empathy and inspirational approach, I empower individuals and teams to achieve meaningful personal and professional growth.

Sustainability, Yoga & Mindful Living

Inspired by my children, I founded an NGO to support schools in developing sustainability strategies that integrate purposeful learning, empowering them to attain Eco-Schools Certification.

In our technology-driven and fast-moving society, I have witnessed how individuals struggle emotionally, academically, and socially for being different – and how their families face challenges with unmet expectations. My dedication to personal well-being and the high-quality education of future generations propelled me to leave my corporate career and pursue my dream of helping diverse learners and their families grow and thrive.

As an educator for special needs, and as a yoga and mindfulness practitioner with over 30 years of experience, I work closely with NGOs and educational institutions to mentor and empower diverse learners. I have developed a unique teaching and coaching approach, embedding various research- and evidence-based methods to help diverse learners and their families navigate challenges effectively, build resilience, and create a supportive environment for personal growth.

Talents and Skills

I believe in limitless possibilities for positive transformation. My strong analytical and organisational skills enable me to work effectively with diverse audiences. I have a keen ability to view situations from multiple perspectives and intuitively understand the needs of individuals, groups, and organisations – bringing them together to collaboratively shape a future that benefits the entire system.

My appreciation for cultural diversity and adaptability in different settings add value to my clients. I balance objectivity with sensitivity, recognising and addressing people’s cognitive, emotional, physical, and behavioural needs.

Outlook and Aspiration

My life has been a blend of professional achievements, personal growth, and continuous learning. With rich experience as an entrepreneur, educator, and activist, I coach in English, German, and Chinese, offering both online and in-person sessions – whether one-on-one or in group workshops.

I am committed to helping others unlock their true potential, cultivate inner wealth, and live authentically with happiness and compassion.

I look forward to being one of the colours in your colourful journey.

What to expect for each step?

The free introductory call lays the foundation for a trusted partnership. It’s a chance to clarify your questions, share relevant background, and explore whether our approach is the right fit for your child. By the end of this step, we aim to reach a mutual agreement with you to move forward with the assessment phase.

The kick-off home visit includes a holistic, in-home assessment where we observe your child’s behaviour, learning environment, and sensory regulation space. We also incorporate input from key stakeholders — such as teachers, psychologists, or therapists. Through ground research, i.e. interviews with you, your child, and relevant stakeholders, if needed/available, we build a rich, real-life picture that guides personalised and meaningful support.

In the third step, we conduct a standard Attention, Function, and Symptom (AFS) test to better understand your child’s learner profile. We also review your child’s schoolwork to uncover learning patterns, strengths, and challenges — so called Academic Pattern Analysis (APA). The insights from AFS test and APA build the foundation for the next step — Creating an Individualised Development Plan.

Next, we develop an Individualised Development Plan (IDP) — a tailored roadmap built around your child’s unique goals and needs. Clear communication of the plan with teachers, therapists, and healthcare providers is essential to ensure shared understanding and alignment across all areas of your child’s support.

Our approach places strong emphasis on ongoing progress tracking and regular communication. Through consistent alignment with your child’s support network, we make timely adjustments and ensure your child continues to grow in a supportive, responsive environment.
